WHAT TO EXPECT
Taking the first step toward getting support can feel overwhelming, and we want to make getting started as simple and comfortable as possible.
When you contact Bradford Counseling Services, our administrative team will help you determine which service and provider best fits your needs. Whether you are seeking therapy, psychiatric medication management, or a combination of both, we will guide you through the process of scheduling your first appointment.
Starting Therapy
For therapy services, our team will help match you with a clinician based on your individual needs, preferences, and availability. Your first appointment provides an opportunity to meet your therapist, discuss what brings you to counseling, and begin developing goals for treatment.
Therapy sessions typically last 50–55 minutes. Many clients begin with weekly appointments to establish a strong therapeutic relationship and build consistency in the treatment process. Your therapist will work with you to determine the frequency of sessions that best meets your needs.
Starting Psychiatric Services
For psychiatric services, your first appointment will include a comprehensive evaluation with one of our psychiatric providers. Your provider will review your concerns, symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, current medications, and treatment goals to develop an individualized treatment plan.
When medication is appropriate, your provider will discuss treatment options with you and provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care.
We're Here to Help You Get Started
You don't have to know exactly what type of support you need before contacting us. Our team can help answer your questions and guide you toward the appropriate service and provider.
